In & Out

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to you :)

After a brief reprise my laptop finally died a death a few weeks ago, so I've had to beg, borrow and steal computer access. I have picked out a shiny new laptop and I'm going to collect it on Saturday though, Rediculously excited!

In order to keep up some kind of regularity i'm going to In & Out!

IN-
- Christmas: So much fun, ate lots, saw family, indulged in napping, chocolate and presents!
- Glitter: I usually run from it like the plague, but Christmas has seen me breaking out the glitter in abundance! Currently sporting a gold glittery Dior nail varnish, I even suprise myself.
- Caffine: After ridding myself of the Diet Coke demon, I eventually cleansed my diet of all caffine, but I decided to give myself a break over Christmas, hello tea and ameretto and coke! I'm stopping again in Jan though.

OUT-
-Snow: I'm just going to say it, I like to to look at, but in any other context Snow & Ice is an absolute menace!! Defrosting, slipping and "sensible shoes" are not my friends.
- Post Christmas, Pre New Year: It's no longer Christmas and you can't get anything done before we all stop for NYE, urgh.
-NYE Madness: I just don't, and won't get excited about New Years, I'm going to be staying in with a few friends this year, I don't want to spend money on overpriced entry and crowded clubs, just to stand in a circle and sing Auld Langs Eyne with sweaty drunkards.

Post your own below, I love to read them!

Also, only ONE follower to 50, It's taunting me, I hate uneven numbers!! Thank You to everyone who reads this, I love you all!!

Merry Christmas!

Just a quick note to say I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the holidays!!
I'll be relaxing with my family, eating too much and enjoying some down time!

Colour Wheel Series: Coral Queen

We're in the depths of Winter, It's all about plums, burgundy, deep oranges and browns....and i'm obsessed with coral, i'm "cobsessed". It's my little peice of summer in the grey murky winter.

I love wearing peach and coral hues with neutrals, Innotive? Maybe not, Me? Yes :)

MAKE UP

These are my current favourites -

(l-r BarryM 147, Ravashing, Style)

MAC RAVISHING LIPSTICK: I love this as a more sublte pop of colour, I've never been too much of a nude lip girl, so I don't think this is too out there for the day time :)
Barry M 147 Lip Paint: This has a more matte finish, and is more vibrant, so it's more of a statement lip. I love to wear a really neutral face, big lashes and lots of this!

Style Blush: I lovvve this with UD Quickie, the reason I've resisted Benefit Coralista!
Barry M Flamingo Nail Paint: Peachy Coral Perfection! I've been more towards dark nails recently, but I wore this to death and still love it.

(l-r Flamingo Pink, Coral)

STYLE: Coral Accents with Neutrals.

Pictured:
Taupe Suede Court Shoes: Primark
Grey Tulip Skirt: Topshop
Clutch:New Look
Vest:Topshop
Necklace:Primark
Shirt:Massimo Dutti Mens

The Neautraliy of the Navy, Grey and Taupe are lifted by the flash of Coral, I love this Necklace, It was an amazing buy from Primark!!

The Gold chain of the clutch picks up the gold on the necklace :)

Finally, These Shoes are the cheapest and the BEST, I bought them in about three different colours!!
They're classic and go with most outfits.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'm going to do a few colour themed posts like this!!
Next Up: Purple

Mini Haul - OPI & MAC

I know it's before Christmas and I really shouldn't be buying for myself, but I just couldn't resist getting a few presents for myself!

I took advantage of the MAC free delivery code that was running last week, and I decided to go ahead and get a few things I wanted.

Orb Pro Pan Refill:

I was in dire need of a Matte highlight shade, and after seeing a swatch of this on Temptalia, it went straight in my basket. It's GORGEOUS. I've been wearing this in the day for work just as a wash of colour, and it just balances out my lid colour and makes me look natural but polished.

(I couldn't get a decent swatch of this, but please go and check it out on Temptalia!)

Springsheen Blush:

I've been dithering over this blush for ages and I just decided to take the plunge and get it. It's a warm peachy tone that it super wearable but I'm unsure whether it's really special, I have tonnes of similar tones blushes already, so although it's a lovely blush and looks nice on, it's not really made me jump for joy.

Springsheen vs Style and Urban Decay Afterglow Quickie.

(Style/Quickie Top, Springsheen Bottom)

Fix+:

This was a re-purchase for me, I love to spritz it on before make up, and for making eyeshadows more vibrant.

O.P.I

I went to John Lewis and stumbled across the OPI section, and slipped a few into my bag.

(Pathetic Attempt At Swatch - Sorry! It's on the back of an Alien Tester haha)

(T-B Bastille My Heart, Lincoln PAD & You Don't Know Jacques)

Bastille My Heart:

This is my Christmas Colour, I'm not really into shimmery polish, but it's subtle enough to be festive :)

Lincoln Park After Dark:

I've wanted this for AGES and I'm not dissapointed, I love it!

You Don't Know Jacques:

I own, greys and browns but I love the taupe shade of this, I know why it's a best seller!!

Lots of Love,

Perfume Please

I'm a serial perfume addict, I'm forever adding to my collection and my wishlist is always growing.

THE CURRENT FAVOURITE
Vera Wang Rock Princess

I must admit, this was a scent I loved in the store, but when I got it home I felt like it was a little too "dark" for me, but I've really started to like it. It's a really unusual fragrance, and I've used it pretty much everyday for a while now.

THE SIGNATURE SCENT
Nina by Nina Ricci

I fell in love with this when I first smelt it, and I can honestly say this is my all time favourite fragrance, I love the way it develops throughout the day. I'll buy bottle after bottle of this.

THE WISHLIST
Boss Orange

Everytime I go near this I have to smell it, It's light, fruity and the perfect spring summer scent. As we're in the depths of winter I don't think I'll be purchasing it until then though!

Alien by Thierry Mugler.

I've got so many samples of this is various magazines, and I'm hooked, it's the right balance between night and day. I'm also so impressed with the mini pump sample they've been rolling out in the various magazines!!

Flowerbomb by Vicktor & Rolf

It's such a perfect floral scent, and I know it's been talked about a lot, but I just adore the smell of this, maybe it'll stay on my list a little longer but only if my restraint holds out!!

Update, General Ramble.

Hello :)

The Beauty Spark has been lacking a bit of 'Spark' this week, I've been soo ill that i've hardly worn make up, so any inspiration has been in short supply!!

I'm starting to get better though, I managed to drag myself to work today, but i'm still coughing all over the place. I even have to carry around an inhaler...do you get any more sexy/cool?!

I have literally had to restrain myself from internet binges the past few days, I've had my card poised and at the ready several times but it's gone back in the purse with Christmas in mind.

I have been obsessing over these two products though, and unlike all my other 'essential' items I nearly bought, I keep thinking about them.

They are both Illamasqua -

Furore Pigment: I rarely buy Pigments, but it just looks so versatile and wonderful, I'm very interested!

Enrapture: Molten Bronze, I really want to try one of these, are they worth it??

Alsoo, If you haven't heard of Glee you really should have!! I've been watching it on the internet and It's literally my favourite show ever! I'm totally musical theatre, and was a musical theatre child, so it's right up my street :) I think it's being piloted on E4 on the 15th December, so tune in!!

Ok, that's all for my little ramble.

Meet Sue Slyvester, She is without doubt my favourite character.

"Santana, Gay Kid, Wheels, Asian, Other Asian, Aretha, Shaft"

Ok, Lots Of Love,

Top 3 Products Under £5

I've really enjoyed reading these posts so here's my own :)

Hair Care:

Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance

I spray about two pumps of this into the ends of my hair before I blow dry it, It's smells delicious and keeps my hair in check :)
At £3.88 from Superdrug, It's great.

Skin Care:

Salvon

I always have a tube of this in my drawer, it's a lifesaver!
If I feel my skin breaking out, I just dab a bit of this on the affected area and go to sleep, it's usually calmed down when I wake up!!
It's usually about £3.00 for a tube of this, and it's better than any "quick fix" spot treatment i've ever tried.

Make Up:

This was really hard to pick!!
I could say Barry M or Sleek, but I thought i'd go with something a bit different.

2True Cheek and Lip Tint

This is the best £1.95 I've ever spent :)
It's a healthy, long lasting glow in a bottle.
I'm a big fan of 2True, and this is by far my favourite product.

Lots of Love,

Laura xxx

November Favourites

I cannot believe how fast November has gone by! I'm not ready for December yet, can't it wait a few more weeks??

But, because my name isn't Bernard and I don't own a magical watch, here are my November Favourites!!

(l-r)
MAC Style Blush
Max Factor Second Skin Foundation
Barry M Lip Paint 147
Lush Snow Fairy
Urban Decay Afterglow Blush - Quickie
Nails Inc Victoria

MAC Style Blush

I think this is my favourite ever MAC Blush, It's just delicious and healthy :) this also might be due to my current coral phase.

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Quickie

Urban Decay Afterglow Blushes have been a long time favourite of mine, you may get less for your money compared with a mac blush, but I've gone through all of these and I always go back to them, there my fail safe blush.

I have been wearing these two together for the past few weeks almost every single day, it's the best blush combo, Quickie on the apples of my cheek, and Style on the cheek bone. Heaven!
I PROMISE i'll post you a picture of this, but it's wayy to late at night, and I look pretty tired and gross, tomorrow? :)

Max Factor Second Skin Foundation

I've already waxed lyrical about this product, and I haven't actually touched any of my higher end foundations (NARS, MAC) since I bought this, It may be due to it laziness, as it's forever next to my mirror, but I think it's mainly due to the fact that it's a lovely foundation!

(haha I just realised I included this product in my October Favourites too!! That shows how much I love it...or how forgetful I am? you decide)

Barry M Lip Paint in 147

I've worn this almost everyday for work, with a bit of carmex under it, it doesn't dry my lips out and is the perfect light coral shade!

I'm wearing it in this post if you want to see it!!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

I feel I've written wayy to much about the Lush Christmas products on here lately, so all i'm going to say is, I love this product, and the scent is divine! The End.
If you want to read more about them, read here!

Nails Inc Victoria

Yes, It was the Glamour freebie, No, It hasn't been off my nails since I first put it on about three weeks ago! I'm really loving the Rouge Noir look, what can I say, it's the perfect winter shade.

NOTD - what it looks like on!

So here's to December, Christmas Timee!

ALSO

A quick thank you to Tanya
for mentioning me on her share the love blog, it was such a nice suprise and it's so lovely to know that people enjoy reading what I have to say!

On that note i'm only 2 followers away from 50, yaay!! I'm so thankful that all of you think it's worthwhile reading what I have to say!

I'm going to try and do a little something when I reach 50, just something simple, to say thank you! So come on 50!!

Lots of Love,

Quick Fire Review: Lush Wee Harry/No Name Elf Bubble Bar

What It Promises:
A warm spicy bath experience, pure christmas indulgence!

First Impressions:
It's Christmas in a Bubble Bar, but I couldn't find an Elf with two eyes!

How did it go?:
It turned the water a really vivid orange colour, which I wasn't so crazy about, I felt a bit like I was bathing in Irn Bru!
It didn't feel as moisturising as a Star Melt, but when I shaved my legs in the bath, they were sooo soft, so who knows!

How much is it?:
£2.95 each, but I only used the 'hat' of wee harry and it was more than enough, about 3 or 4 more uses left!

Star Rating:
3/5

Where Can I Get It?:

Lush Stores Nationwide & http://www.lush.com/

Click Here for other Quick Fire Reviews!

ALSO

A 'Wee' Mystery!!

I had a dark plum nail varnish on when I used this bubble bar, and when I got out I noticed that the bubble bar had turned my nail varnish a greeny colour! Not unlike copper when it oxidises!! very bizarre.
Have you experienced this??

Lots of Love, Laura xxx

Sunday Night In & Out

I've had such a busyy weekend so I'm going to be a bit lazy with today's post!!

IN

- Coral.
I'm talking coral blush, coral lipstick, coral clothing, i'm a definate 'coralista' at the moment, expect a post on my favourites :) curiously enough I am yet to own coralista blush!!
- Star Melt by Lush.
That Snow Fairy scent should have a warning on it, it's soo addictive.
- Lady GaGa - Bad Romance.
I first heard it and though, what? I heard it a second time and thought, wow. Love the song, lovvve the video! How much Alexander McQueen can you squeeze into one music video :)

OUT

-Lack of sunshine/daylight in my life.
I get up it's dark, I finish work and it's dark, where is the daylight in my day!! come back!
-Winter Weather.
You're causing havoc with my hair routine, go away.
- Christmas Panic.
The shops are slowly getting busier and busier, I want to do my shopping in peace thank you, calm down!

Right i'm off to have another lush bath (3 days in a row haha) to try some other new products.
p.s  I used No Name Elf yesterday, quite a mixed bag, but interesting!! Expect another quick fire review tomorrow!!

What It Promises:
The Icing Sugar in the Melt promises a sweet, moisturising bath experience.

First Impressions:
Smells Devine, Pretty!

How Did It Go?:
The smell was delicious, the bath went a creamy pink colour (not unlike yazoo) and my skin felt moisturised and soft.

How Much Is It?:
£2.45 each, It's so addictive it could end up being an expensive habit!!

Star Rating:
4/5

Have Yourself A Lush Christmas!

Ever since I bought myself a star melt bath melt, a small snow fairy shower gel and snow fairy solid perfume a few weeks ago I've been itching to go back to Lush to get some more!

My decision was made for me when I found a 10% voucher in one of my draws when I was sorting out, that had to be used outside of December, so off to Lush I went :)

I bought (L-R)

- Star Melt Bath Melt x2
-Snow Fairy Shower Gel 500g
- No Name Elf Bubble Bar
- Cinders Bath Bomb

I had to stock up on Star Melt and Snow Fairy as I loveee the scent and the Star Melt is my favourite bath time product, ever!!

I love cinnamon in the winter time as it smells so warm and festive, so I was drawn to the No Name Elf Bubble Bar, it smells delicious so i'm excited to use it, my only complaint about this one is I couldn't find one with two eyes in the shop, so I have a one eyed no name elf!

The assistant in Lush pointed out Cinders to me as he saw what was in my basket, and after smelling it I had to get it, it's the right balance between spicy and sweet, so I think it'll make for a lovely bath!!

I'll let you know what I think of these products after I've used it, but i'll make it quick as I know a lot of these are going around at the moment!! I'll do a * rating I think!!

Are there anymore Lush christmas products you think I should try??

Lots of Love,

Laura xxx

Teeny Mini MAC Haul :)

I went to MAC on Saturday and it was sooooo busy that I had to literally fight my way to the counter!!

I really wanted to spend my time looking at the eyeshadows but I had lots of very impatient people trying to budge me and my friend out of the way, not cool.

So, I ended up getting one planned thing, and one unplanned but really nice thing :)

"Style" Blush & "Ravishing" Lipstick

You can probably tell from the picture that i've used them a few times already but I couldn't wait!!
I love them both! I'm on a real coral/peach kick at the moment, it's my favorite shade to wear.

Quick First Impressions -

Style blush is so pretty, it warms up my face and gives me a nice healthy glow without being too OTT.

Ravishing is just the right amount of coral to be suitable for day or night for me, I swatched quite a few of them and I just liked the look of this best :) It is a lustre so I feel like it's not as wow as i'd like it to be for evening, but it's such a pretty day lipstick or for a more casual night look.

I'm going to do a FOTD with these soon, so watch out! I'll actually make the effort to remember!!

Lots of Love, Laura xxx

Barry M Lip Paint

I love Barry M, I think It's a fantastic drugstore brand and their products always seem to deliver, but I have never tried their lip paint!!

So I went on a little shopping trip on Sunday, and decided to buy two lip paints, in shade 147 and 145 :)

(the flash has kinda washed out the coral lipstick but it's much more vibrant in person)

I have to say, I am soo impressed with these two!

The lighter coral shade is a lot more matte than the hot pink shade, but I think it looks really cool when it's on, BUT it can look "chalky" if you're not careful, which seems to be the biggest down on the lip paints. I don't know if the hot pink is a newer formulation lip paint but it seems to be more creamy when I apply it.

This is how it looks on :)

147 - Peachy Coral

145 - Hot Pink

I only applied these quickly to take a picture but the pigmentation is insane for the price!

I haven't tested the longevity of the product yet during the day, but I plan to wear the coral one to work today to test it out! Coral lipsticks are fast becoming my new obsession!

I'd love to try some more of these, so if you have any "must have" shades, I'd love for you to tell me :)

Lots of Love,

Laura xxx

Nivea Visage Radience Boosting Daily Scrub...My Skin Saviour

My skin has been looking increasingly dull and uncared for recently, due to working late and a seriously lapse in skincare routine.
Even after I used my regular exfoliator (Benefit Honey, Snap Out Of It) & did a face mask (MAC Volcanic Ash) etc etc I still didn't feel like my skin felt boosted or fresh.

I was actually taking a shower at my mum's and decided to have a sneaky poke around her shower stuff whilst I was in there, and I saw this on the shelf in the shower. I decided she wouldn't mind if I tried it and I'm so glad that I did.

The usual scrubs I go for are more 'hands on' exfoliators with large bits of abrasive in them to work my skin, but I'm totally convinced that this is the way to go now.

The Nivea scrub is less gritty than a normal exfoliator and comes out more like a gel when you put it in your hand, but one you rub it on your face you can feel the tiny abrasive particles working their socks off!

My skin was left smooth, fresh and just looked more healthy. It reminded me of a more high end exfoliator and it's only good old nivea! It even left the sides of my nose really smooth as I seem to get dry skin there the most.

I went out and bought myself this the next day and I'm using it religiously, my skin is looking healthy and radiant.

I got this for about £5.00 which, for the results it's produced is fantastic!

Hope you're having a good week, I'm so excited about the Weekend/Friday!

Also I'm sooo close to 50! Thanks guys!!
I'm going to run a little competition once I get to 50 and I promise it'll be a good one! So spread the word!!

Lots of Love,

Laura xxx

Blog Award

I was awarded the Kreativ Blogger award by Bits of Fluff , Thank You!

I have to give you 7 interesting facts about me, I will warn you, there will be 7 facts, but they might not be interesting!!

  2. I have REALLY curly hair, super tight ringlets, but I've been straightening it into submission for about 5 years now, so people are really suprised when I tell them, because unless you knew me from secondary school, you would never know.
  3. I am a classically trained singer, and I have Grade 8 in classical singing and Grade 8 in Musical Theatre. Snazzy!
  4. I sang solo for Liz...(The Queen)
  5. I drive the most rediculous car, It's a vintage mercedes pimp car and I look really small and stupid when I drive it because It looks like a man with copious amounts of gold chains should be at the wheel.
  6. I am half Scottish and whenever I go to Scotland or hear Scottish people, I can't help pick up the accent. Embarressing.
  7. My favourite drink is Sloe Gin & Lemonade...sorry this is a bit weak I couldn't think of anything else!!
I award this award to:

Jennifer-Rosellen - I love her blog and can't wait until she gets started again :)

Dainty Dollymix - A new find :)

Whats In My Purse?!

I love these types of posts/videos so here is mine!!

This is the bag I always tend to use, it's either this or a black leather over the shoulder bag from topshop.

The bag is by Guess and it's the perfect size to hold all of my rubbish without being too big to find anything!

So...What's in my bag?!

It's getting colder now so I always have a pair of gloves in my bag, these are grey cashmere, they're so soft!

I'm using a brown leather purse from Accesorize at the moment, it's not that exciting but it does the job!
My Paying in book & Cheque Book
Sunglasses for driving! These were from Blacks haha
Animal Print Umbrella, I love it!
Handy Wipes from Superdrug, always.
Pen, you always need a pen!
Car Keys!

My Phone is an LG Arena, but I took the pictures with it, so it's not in here!

I don't carry many makeup items really, but I always have.

Grips
Lipstick - this one is Ambre Rose, Maybelline.
Snow Fairy Solid Perfume
Vera Wang Princess roll on, perfect for my handbag!

So that's it! Hope you have a great week!

Lots of Love,

Laura xxx

NOTD

NOTD

Victoria - Nails Inc

Obviously free with Glamour!

The flash has brightened the colour up here but it's a much more rich deep red, very chanel rouge noir!!

I love the colour and nails inc have suprised me on this one, as i'm not completly convinced about the brand as a whole.

It's staying power has been good but I suspect it's the copious amount of top coat I applied to this first.

Saturday Lust List

It's been such a disgusting day outside I've just spent the last hour browsing my usual make up/fashion haunts online rather than brave the shops.

I have come the decision that I need (not just want) the following:

E.L.F single eyeshadow in amethyst.

I'm curious to see how the new elf range stands up, and this colour is just too perfect for the holiday season.

Topshop Striped Tunic

Breton style tops have been a staple of my wardbrobe right through the summer and have carried my through into winter, add sleeves and blazer and you're laughing.

OPI - Suzi and the Lifeguard & Ate Berries In the Canaries.
Just because!

Happy Weekend!!
