Applied with Lip Brush - Lightly Stained - Heavily Applied - Swatch with Flash - Swatch without Flash - Rebel - In The Bullet.

I have never had such a game trying to get accurate colouring as I have with Rebel. It's one of those scary in the bullet but amazing on the lips colours that I adore if I'm feeling braver than usual. 

The best way to describe Rebel is a raspberry lipstick with cool purple undertones. 

It's a highly pigmented shade that works well with my pale skin but would look equally stunning on darker skintones. I adore Satin finish lipsticks and this is no exception. My one gripe is that it tends to show up even the slightest bit of dryness when photographed, so a good prep is required.

If I'm going all out I'll pair this with MAC Currant lipliner, it's a dangerously vampish combo that never fails to impress me. See here for a sneak peak.

Art Deco Glitter Nails.

I never go to town on my nails to this extent, but I'm loving the results. I think the combination of taupe, pink and glitter with the angular design scream Art Deco...just me? 

I'd like to say I didn't muster this out of thin air, I'm pretty sure I saw it on pinterest, but cannot find the original...but props to the creator! 

How To: 

1. Paint a base coat of the first polish, I used Nails Inc Jermyn Street, but choose whichever colour you like...

2. Let the base colour dry. 

3. Using small strips of sellotape, map out your triangle, you can choose to go as big or as small as you like, I quite like it just halfway up the nail. 

4. Paint your glitter polish (Models Own Pink Fizz) in the exposed triangle area and let it partially dry, the quickly whip the sellotape off to reveal (hopefully!) a neat glitter triangle. 

5. Use a liquid eyeliner...Illamasqua precision ink for me, line the edges of the triangle, this is great for correcting a slightly wonky lines if you have any. 

6. LET IT DRY PROPERLY, I went in with the top coat far too quickly on the first nail I did and I had to do an emergency touch up with a cotton bud. 

7. Just slick some good topcoat over the top, I went with Seche Vite...It's the king of topcoats. 

It is fiddly, It was a bit of a pain, and I did get nail polish on my carpet. But I love the results and I rocked my nails with pride when I went out this weekend.

This is what's on my face today...I did it in about 10 minutes flat, hence not actually showing my face today! The Korres Lip Butter really makes the biggest difference, when applied carefully it gives a healthy stain to the lip, almost like I've consumed a whole punnet of raspberries and blackberries, bliss. 

I've cracked out a few old favourites and neglected products, Quickie Blush used to be my staple, but I'm far more inclined to go down a peach/coral route for the cheeks now. Paired with So Sweet, So Easy, it made a nice pink change!

February Glossybox.

Is it just me or has Glossybox's February offering come around really quickly? 

This month Glossybox have run with a Fashion Week Edition, providing you with 5 sample "to help you get through the most glamorous, and often most gruelling" week of the year.

I wasn't immediately bowled over when I unwrapped the box, but actually, I'm really pleased with it! 

What was inside? 

DuWop Venom Gloss in Buttercup. (full size £16/10.4ml) 

It smells delicious, a bit like spicy fruit bread. I've just whacked it on my lips and it's a subtle shimmer gloss with a tingly kick to it. 

I'm impressed with it, but I'm not a huge gloss wearer, It was nice for a tingly hit though! 

Impress Press-on Manicure. (full size £8.99) 

Before I begin, there is a bit old typo on the Glossybox information card, as It states this is £17.40 for a full size. So before you all panic, it's just a editing error. 

I was really impressed with the colour I was sent, If I'm in a rush, I always tend to go for a dark colour, and these will prove useful! Hopefully I can fit my nails as I'm not sure how easily you could shape these. 

Awupuhi by Paul Mitchell Wild Ginger Treatment Oil (full size £25.95/100ml)

I wasn't immidiately interested in this little bottle, but once I realised it was a) a hair oil and b) smelt of ginger, I was extremely pleased. I whacked a bit on the ends of my hair and it left silky smooth ends with a lovely subtle perfume. Impressed! Probably my favourite product this month. 

BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eyeshadow (full size £7.00/2g) 

This is a very generous little sample, considering I hardly ever reach for pigments. I was sent Dusty Road, a gorgeous gold hue that will look stunning on eyes or on cheekbones and collarbones in the height of summer. 

Como Shambhala Invigorate Shower Gel (full size £20.00/300ml) 

I always appreciate a shower gel sample as I love to put them in my gym bag, this has a great zingy fragrance and It won't go to waste, however I can't imagine spending £20.00 on the full size, however great it was! 

The Verdict. 

Personally, what didn't immidiately wow me has turned into a great box. I know I'll use or look forward to experimenting with everything on offer and I actually prefer this to last month.

Quick Fire Review: MUA 3in1 Extreme Contour Eye Pen.

What Does It Claim To Do? 

MUA claim "by using the angles of the nib, this fantastic eye pen creates 3 different looks whatever the occasion" 

Available in a range of colours, I went down the safe route and plumped for black. 

By playing with the thickness of the pen, you can either go for a slick defined line, go all out and coat the lid, or go smudgy and smoky.

All for £1.50.

What Does It Actually Do?

It works to a point, the angled nib give you different effects and if soft, pliable eye products float your boat, you can't go wrong for £1.50. It lands far more over on the smudgy side once applied however to claim that you can get perfect definition. 

The Verdict. 

Before I begin, I just want to slap a massive £1.50 disclaimer on this, I mean £1.50! You can't ask the earth for less than a couple of quid and you get a decent product if you're willing to work with this. 

It's a creamy, waxy product that will delight some and horrify others. It's not going to last forever without some serious priming and sealing and the pigmentation just isn't that rich. 

BUT 

Considering it's a nifty little paint stick not unlike a far more expensive MAC version, it's worth a chance. It's a one way ticket to grunge heaven.

I've really failed at taking many 'life photographs' recently, but I've scraped together a few to show you what I've been up to. 

I've developed a love for all things Coffee recently, but alas, I've drawn the line at Weasel Coffee, just urgh. In other food news, Mini Egg yoghurt's are unbelievably nice, nom. On a healthier note, I borrowed this recipe from Daisy and it is the most amazing quick chicken recipe ever.

In other life news, I was offered a new job on Friday and I will be starting on Tuesday! It's all happened quite quickly but I'm really excited to begin and can't wait. Monday will be spent rushing around like a mad thing making sure I'm ready. When I got the news, I was spoilt with a massive magnum of Champagne and some lovely flowers, very happy!

The Lipstick Project: MAC Creme Cup.

To continue on with the project, I've rediscovered a past staple of mine and an absolute staple. 

Creme Cup is probably my all time favourite nude shade. I've come to realise that super peachy nudes just don't do it for me, and I'm far better suited to pink/neutral based lip product. The lipstick itself is a smooth, soft formula that simply glides on, beware though, as they melt like a bitch. My Creme Cup had a brief encounter with a laptop fan and has been maimed ever since. 

I've been alternating between this and Hue over the past week, expect to see Hue very soon!

Murky, Muddy Fingernails.

It's official, It's gone beyond a brief affair and has turned into a full blown union. 

Some may say it's past its sell by date, but you really can't go wrong with a pretty hue of purple/grey/brown.

Barry M Dusky Mauve also ticks all the boxes, a dead match for Chanel Paradoxal.
