What's in my August Glossybox.

I realise it seems a bit like Glossybox O'Clock here at the moment as I was so late getting my July box published, but I've really enjoyed this month and just had to give you my thoughts.

I have to admit, I really love this month's theme: International Superstars. I always welcome the chance to try products that aren't easily accessible in the UK and this box is an absolute treat.

In my box I received:

Allesandro: Pro White Nail Polish
DHC: Deep Cleansing Oil
All For Eve: Eve's Balm
Vera Valenti: L'Ombre a Paupiere Margarita
Lipcote
Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink

 Winners & Losers

Overall I'm really impressed with this month's offering. But my star item has to be Lipcote. I've wanted to try this product for ages and it really does what it sets out to do. I used with the bonus Glossy Pink Lipstick and it didn't budge for 5 hours, not bad! (I'm loving this lip colour by the way!)
I gave the Allesandro Pro White a whirl and whilst I didn't notice immediate brightening, it'll work as a lovely base coat.
I'm always in the market for a good balm and the All for Eve Balm is a winner. I love the fact it has a really herbal fresh scent and the mirror in the compact is a nice touch. The fact that all of the profits go to a good cause makes it an even more special little product.
I'm currently wading through an entire drawer full of various oils but my first impressions of the DHC Oil are good. I think I'll keep this for going away as it's such a convenient size.
The only product that really did let me down this month was the Vera Valenti Eyeshadow Palette. I initally thought it was a colour correcting concealer palette but on closer inspection found it was eye shadow. This wasn't a problem but the quality of the product is...a bit naff. There is no pigmentation and the texture is chalky. I imagine this will end up with a friends daughter as it really only warrants being used a dressing up make up.

Apart from this small blip I really think Glossybox have pulled together a really nice box this month.

I'd love to see more like this in the future!

OPI Hawaiian Orchid.

I was craving a light pink that wasn't too pastel. OPI Hawaiian Orchid fit the bill.

This delicate cool toned pink with a slight frost was the perfect antidote for my recent foray into obnoxious glitter nails. Sometimes it's nice to be a classy lady.

Quick Fire Review: July Glossybox

Instead of the usual open box style post about Glossybox, I decided to take a little bit of time to trial each product and give a quick opinion.

So, without further ado.

Collin Paris Regenerated Collagen Gel: I was really curious about this little product as I have really been enjoying French skincare at the moment. Initially the smell really put me off, it smells exactly the same as a generic liquid soap you find in most public toilets. Once that image was locked in my mind I was less than willing to put it on my face. But to give credit where credit is due, it did leave my skin feeling soft and felt silky smooth. But I simply cannot get over that scent.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Texturizing Sea Spray: I recieved the styling treatment oil in a previous box from the same brand and I absolutely adore it. A complete 180 from the Collin product, the ginger scent is absolute heaven. I'm trying to use less heat on my hair so I enjoyed giving this a go. I'd recommend this if you're not a fan of crispy locks, but fancy some beachy texture.

Kryolan Satin Powder in SP 333: This has to be my stand out product of the month. Initially I wasn't too impressed as lets face it, I'm never going to rock a bright peach/orange eye. But I've found that it's an absolutely lovely highlight if you've already applied a peach cream blush. Paired with Illamasqua's Emerge, it's a dream.

Monu Extra Rich Night Cream: I'll be honest, I gave this a night. Simply because I've used Monu in the past, and I don't think it gets on with my skin. I'm really happy with my Origins night cream so I found a better home for it.

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Samples: I enjoyed trying these little sachets out and used the cleanser, serum and lotion to mix up my daily routine. It left my skin feeling nice and smooth, but as the sample was so small I can't give you a definitive opinion. It was a nice treat though!

The round up...what do I think of July's Glossybox.

I didn't really pack a punch when I opened the box, but for the Kryolan alone it's been a good month! I would think about looking into the Elizabeth Arden further once my current skincare has run out. I'll look forward to seeing what the next month brings!

*PR Sample, but opinions are my own yo.
