Weekend in Pictures

Salut!

Before I dive back into a jam packed week at work, I thought I'd fill you in on what I've been up to for the past few days, aided quite helpfully by a variety of snaps on the old iPhone...

I hopped on a train and went to see a lovely friend and we ate, drank and got a little too merry...I can't say I particularly enjoyed the journey back, even with my medicore hangover survival kit!

I quick snapshot of my life at the moment: living out of a suitcase! It's a bit hectic but I'm enjoying it.

A very boring OOTD: Black Leggings & Boot - Topshop/Top - H&M.
A quick fitness update too: I've managed to wave goodbye to 3 stone now (pats own back!). I don't want to witter on about how weightloss can change your life, but it honestly has affected me in ways I didn't actually think it would but it has.

I came back home to this adorable cupcake candle from my wonderful mother this weekend, it smells of cherry bakewells and might even be better than the real thing (read better for your hips!).

Hope you've had a brilliant bank holiday, I'm off to watch the standard array of nitwits and novelty acts on BGT now...

The Lust List: Swimwear

It's not exactly bikini weather here in good old Blighty but, as I almost found out last year, if one wants the pick of the best swimwear out there, one must simply shop in advance!

These are just a few cozzies I've got my eye on...

I'm a massive fan of mix and match bikinis, as I'm most definately in need of a little bit more support up top, ahem.

Checked Bikini Bottoms, £12.00 - too cute for words!
HERE

Miss Mandalay Stripe Full Bikini Briefs, £30.00 - these are my top pick this summer, I adore the 50's vibe and i'm a sucker for a nautical stripe.

I'll even chuck in the matching bikini top...

£52.00 - it's expensive but I always think it pays to buy good swimwear!

Finally, I'm in love with cut out swimsuits, they're a little bit different and a bit of a confidence boost!

Image 1 of ASOS Asymmetric Cut Out Suit

Asymetric Cut Out Suit, £30.00 - I'm in love with this!

Have you got your eye on any swimwear this summer??

Coming Up, Going Down...

You'll have to forgive me for this incredibly sloppy/lazy post but due to my current disjointed lifestyle it's the best I can do! Anyway, we all love the occasional 'In & Out' post don't we?!

Coming Up...

New Challenges: I've recently started a new adventure, and whilst it's not forever, it's wetted my appetite to try new things, it's reminded me that it's good to shake things up now and again.

Lipgloss: From the profound to the superficial...let's remember where we are here! After a long gloss drought my I ♥ U plushglass has got me hooked again, I'm definitely going to check out some of the other shades.

Simple Skincare: I've stripped my skincare routine right back and my skin is looking the best that it has in a long time. I'm using Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, La Roche Posay Pysiological Toner and Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream. Simple.

Going Down...

Motorways: With new opportunities come a heck of a lot of travelling, I've seen enough tarmac in the last couple of weeks to last me a lifetime...le sigh.

Blowing a Gale: What is the deal with this wind this week! Even in the hop skip and jump from my car to the office my barnet looks like it's been swept up a twister, note to self - lay off the hairspray in windy conditions!

Made in Chelsea: I gave it a shot and it failed to capture me at all. Not even the sexually ambigious Ollie could save the day...thumbs down, team TOWIE!

Normal service will resume shortly, I promise!

In other news...

I've started to make more use of my sadly neglected youtube channel, so if you (hopefully) want to see me ramble on about beauty/fashion/various things click here to subscribe!!

Product of the Week: Prestige My Blackest Lashes

Hola,

I didn't post my product of the week last week as I'm super busy with work right now, and I've moved down south for a little bit to work so i've been pre-occupied with that!

I mentioned this mascara in my favourites video but I thought you might want to see it close up...

It's got a brilliant fat bristle wand - a definate plus in my book, I don't tend to get on with rubber wands, yuck!

I won't keep you for long, it's a really great black mascara...no prizes for adept analysis here!!

This has fast become my everyday mascara, even knocking MUFE Smoky Lash into a supporting role, which is really is the acid test, It doesn't flake and lasts all day.

This is actually a picture of my lashes after I applied it at 7:30am, and it's now 7:30 pm, 12 hours on it's not looking bad!

One cautionary note though, as I mentioned in the video, maybe stay away from this in the gym, it just slides under my eyes when I've been wearing this, but hey, that might just be me!!

Have a wonderful week, i'll try my best to update you all but my workload is about to explode!!

Grab It While You Can: Nails Inc & InStyle

Nails Inc Electric Teal

I'm an avid reader of InStyle anyway but this lovely Nails Inc bonus didn't go unappreciated!

InStyle & Nails Inc have developed three shades (Electric Teal/Candy Orange & Fashion Fawn) as a wonderful freebie this month, If I were you I'd get down to the shop pronto! At £11 RRP you're definitely getting a bargain.

I picked up Electric Teal as I don't own anything similar, it's a bit of departure from the warmer tones that usually grace my talons, but it's a lovely change!!

Quick Fire Review: MAC I ♥ U Plushglass

On Saturday, one of my lovely friends presented me with a little birthday treat, the I ♥ U Plushglass from the Quite Cute Collection.

I'd briefly persued the collection and nothing had caught my eye, but boy am I glad that afformentioned lovely friend picked this out for me!

I think the key thing to mention with this product is don't judge it by the tube, it's very lavender...something of an acquired taste?

Heavily Swatched & Blended Out

Granted when swatched it's also still playing on the purple side, but when applied to the lips it transforms to an effortless sheer pinky sheen that is just a pure delight. It gives the lips a slight fullness that please's me no end.

On The Lips & A Closer Look!

Can I just mention the smell as well, a potent mixutre of MAC vanilla with cake batter...divine.
In Summary...

  • It's not sticky but has staying power, it'll fade off your lips without looking dodgy.
  • The smell...I could bath in it.
  • The slight plumping affect without being OTT.
A definate new favourite!

All The Poems Written In Your Skin...

"Ever since the 1940s, when Greta Garbo picked up her black pencil and created the iconic illusion of depth on her eye socket line for the Hollywood cameras, make-up users across the world have searched for the tools and technique to create that show-stopping moment".

Is what Illamasqua have to say about their latest innovation, Skin Sketching...

To break it down, it's basically contouring with pencil, hence the skin sketching term...If precision contouring is your bag, check these out. They appear to be multi functional, which is always a plus in my book!

If you're interested, watch the video below to see it in action!

RRP £13

Right, must dash, I'm playing the part of the hostess with the mostess at my birthday soiree tonight and I'm just about ready for a disco nap...even though I've got a million and one things to do!

Have a brilliant weekend,

Good Things Come To Those Who Wait...

Evening All,

It may come as a shock to you, but I am a fickle beauty buyer...I like to try lots of new things on a whim, which usually results in a serious case of "what was I thinking?!", Exhibit A: Currant Lip Pencil from MAC, stunning colour? yes. Impulse buy? of course. Have I used it yet...once...in my own bedroom.

Well my friends, I may have found a true beauty love. I first sniffed Jimmy Choo's first foray into the perfume world a couple of months ago when it was first released, and believe me, I had to surgically remove my nostrils from the magazine page (it was a snazzy perfume sample page, naturally).

This honestly shot to the top of my "need" list but I resisted as I already had a more than adequate selection of perfumes on the go. I'm not going to lie, I'd visit Jimmy every time I was in sniffing distance of the fragrance section of any department store, and parting was such sweet sorrow.

BUT

The birthday arrived, and so did Jimmy!

It's a heavenly sweet floral scent that lingers on, basically just my cup of tea!

If we're playing the comparison game it lies painfully close to Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb in scent and appearance...not surprising as they're made by the same people.

The wait for Jimmy has made this gem even more precious, perfume of the summer??

Change of Pace: MeMeMe Long Lasting Gloss Polish in 84 Delicate

Just when I think i've kicked the murky polish habit, it strikes back with force.

I'm a big fan of MeMeMe polishes, the wide brush makes application virtually fool proof and it takes two thin coats to achieve beautiful opaque colour!

RRP £4.50

(They're 3 for 2 at Superdrug at the moment, check them out!)

Birthday Girl

Aloha!

As the title may suggest, today is my birthday!

I don't really have much to blog about but wanted to mark it on here for prosperity. I've had a lovely day so far and I'm off to Manchester this evening to eat, drink and be merry...

In actual beauty news, I finally got my hands on some much lusted after products which i'm more excited about than is probably acceptable, and i'm walking around smelling like Jimmy Choo, good things definately come to those who wait!

I'll be back tomorrow with lots of lovely goodies and outfits but until then, i'll be seeing you!
